Silvertones is a unique musical group in our area. Forever Learning Institute has provided the opportunity for seniors to participate in a glee club organized just for them. Our singers are full-of-life, over-50, and love to have fun, and we sing all sorts of music: folk songs, oldies, music from musicals, religious music, you name it. We would like to offer your senior residents and community members, particularly those who love music, several great opportunities in upcoming months.
Silvertones is available as entertainment to retirement communities and nursing homes, service organizations, church and other groups, subject only to the time of year and the availability of the singers. (We do not meet in January and February, and our singers tend to scatter somewhat in the summer months.) We suggest a $100 donation when we sing.
For those who are able to be out and about, we welcome anyone 50 or better who loves to sing to come and be part of Silvertones. We rehearse on Wednesday mornings from 10:00 until noon, March through mid-May and September through mid-November. We present a concert each semester, and sing where we are invited. There are no auditions, anyone who wants to sing is welcome, no matter their ability. Our rehearsal space is handicap accessible.
Silvertones is a part of Forever Learning Institute and students join the group just by registering at the start of each new semester. Please see our website and ForeverLearningInstitute.org or call our offices at 574/282-1901 for more information.
