Silvertones is Forever Learning Institute’s senior adult choir, providing the opportunity for seniors to participate in a glee club organized for the joy of singing and sharing music. Our singers are full of life, over 50, and love to have fun! The Silvertones sing a variety of music-- folk songs, oldies, musicals, and religious music.
The Silvertones provide entertainment to retirement communities and nursing homes, service organizations, churches, and community organizations, subject to the time of year and the availability of the singers. (Our singers do not meet in January and February, and tend to scatter in the summer months.) We suggest a $100 donation when possible.
Interested senior adults who love to sing are welcome to join the Silvertones. As a Forever Learning Institute class, the choir rehearses on Wednesday mornings from 10:00 a.m. until noon, March through mid-May and September through mid-November. The group performs a public concert at the conclusion of each semester, as well as private performances. Auditions are not required, interested singers are invited to simply register for the class. All are welcome regardless of experience. Our rehearsal space is handicap accessible.
Community groups interested in hosting the Silvertones should call the Forever Learning Institute office at 574/282-1901.
